A review - I TOO HAD A LOVE STORY

"Not all love stories are meant to have a perfect ending. Some stay incomplete. Yet they are beautiful in their own way. Ravin’s love story is one such innocent and beautiful story.”

Ravinder Singh’s ‘I too had a love story‘ is the author’s real-life love story that seems to have struck a chord in the hearts of the readers across the country, making it a national bestseller. The book may be put under the category ‘Fiction’, but it is a well-known fact that each and every one of these chapters is imbibed from the author’s personal experiences.

The novel is written in first person, where the author tries to describe the relationship between him and Khushi in such a manner that I couldn’t help but experience the entire thing through Ravin’s eyes. The book tells us the story of how two strangers with different goals and dreams in life met on a matrimonial site and how their love bloomed, until fate put it to its ultimate test.

What would catch the attention of the reader is the simplicity and the honesty with which this book has been written, that makes the reader so gullible to believe the events of the novel. And also the fact that love stories don’t always end with a happy ending. The chapter where Ravin and Khushi finally meet after months of first meeting on the Internet, talking on the telephone and how the author has shown this is a treat to the readers. A Bollywood blockbuster waiting to happen, this book is one of the very few by an Indian author that you could actually call a page-turner. Readers would be pleased to find out that Ravin’s story continues in his second novel ‘Can Love Happen Twice?’ A long time since I have read anything this good, this is a pure and innocent love-story.
Overall Rating: 7.5/10
